Okay, I hate this shit, but I'm obsessed

Okay, so, I have a love-hate relation with this game called Ballatro

Never has a game gotten me this obsessed.

Wait, on second thought, I get obsessed very quickly & then I’m consumed by the thought of becoming the number #1 in that.

So okay, maybe not never, but dude. I fucking hate Ballatro.

This stuff is so cyclical though. Every couple of months, I get random urges to install the Ballatro APK (I can’t afford to buy it) & attempt to get the high score using a new strategy.

When I started Ballatro, I knew nothing about cards, poker, etc, never heard of Flushes, Straights, etc, so I started playing as sort of a challenge for myself, because I like to do things which I have never done + like to learn new things.

Dude, I hate Markiplier so much for introducing me to this addiction.

The worst part is, that this game has consumed so many hours of my life, and the concept of time just vanishes. Like literally, it just fucking vanishes

My high-score is ~3,000,000,000, which is not even that high tbvh

Ugh, I hate it

But dude on a serious note, I love Indie games like this which take the world by a storm, through their charm & personality + insane replayability, like Balatro, Lethal Company, Incryption, Getting over it, etc

Kudos to all the indie game devs, I can never imagine making even a basic Flappy Bird game, it’s too much work, haha.

P.S. I can’t believe this but I finally caved & bought Ballatro on Steam, I’ve never ever bought a game cause I didn’t want to waste my mother’s money + I’m very “kanjoos”

FUCKING FINALLY, I’M SO PISSED THAT I DIDN’T GET ANY RED SEALS OR NEGATIVE JOKERS LIKE DUDE WTF, NOT EVEN ONE

P.S.S.S I was thinking about this last night, but I think life is like a game of Ballatro. Everyone’s starting deck, jokers, etc is complete RNG. but if you follow the META you can mold your hand quite effectively, thus decreasing the power RNG has over you.

Some builds are absolute shit for the longest time, because they’re missing a piece. But when they get that piece, you see hockeystick growth, while others are still stuck playing the small numbers, despite on winning on early (Young Prodigies vs Sustained Excellence built on strong foundation)

The binds are the curveballs life throws at you, but if you mold your strategy well, you can account for what ifs + have a contingent plan in case, for example levelling your flush & hc up to crazy incase of the plant blind (debuffing face cards)
