Does a “Perfect” Life exist?
For the longest time I've been wondering whether there is someone whom we can unanimously consider to be living the “perfect” life.
If not unanimously, perhaps I may conclude that the individual is living MY version of the “perfect” life, maxing out on the KPIs which matters to me the most.
However though, this question has done nothing but drive me mad. I have no answer. Rather I’ve just ended up feeling more miserable looking at folks living “better” lives than me.
Moreover, yes, I've found people with whom I'd love to swap lives in a heartbeat, but the problem herein lies with my assumptions about their lives based on the superficial image I have of them.
Say someone like Marco Pierre White or Leonardo Dicaprio, perhaps even Mr. Trump. They've lived & are living my version of perfect lives, but when I start to analyze their lives on a granular level, then I come to realise that they've also had their trials & tribulations.
Their lives weren't easy.
I understand there's no point to this discussion, or rather no merit in wasting time pondering about this topic, but somehow I cannot resist.
Comparison is the thief of joy, yes, but it is also necessary for growth. You need to benchmark yourself against the competition.
Or maybe self-pity is the easiest catalyst to hide away in your hidey-hole cursing life & the “bad hand” you have been dealt?
Maybe human life is dependent on dissatisfaction?
What do I know, I’m just a dumb eighteen year old.
